Our wood is unique and exclusive because its waterwood which stays good and beautiful far much longer than normal wood and because it takes a special harvesting technique.

Brokopondo Watra Wood International N.V. “BWWI N.V.” is a wood company which main focus lies with the exploitation of wood in the Prof. Dr. Ir. W. J. van Blommenstein lake. Research revealed that this lake consists over more than 58 wood species, which quality level is very high. Given the high quality of the different wood species, these are exported to countries like the United States of America, Europe, and Asia.

The operation process regarding the exploitation of the wood in the Prof. Dr. Ir. W. J van Blommenstein lake starts divers who go underwater to saw the logs from the reservoir. The logs are than transported to land on pontoons, where they will be checked before processing them to further final product for export. The operational process regarding the underwater logging of BWWI N.V. can be deemed ecofriendly.

The vision of BWWI N.V. regarding the future is one where the company strives to uptimize the export level and/ or optimizing the operational process of the logs to final product, for example the further processing of furniture. Hereby BWWI N.V. strives to achieve an ecofriendly and consumer friendly reputation on a nationwide level as well on international level.

Brokopondo lake

The Brokopondo Reservoir, officially named Professor Doctor Ingenieur W. J. van Blommestein Meer, and also called the Brokopondostuwmeer, is a large reservoir in the South American country Suriname. It is named after the Surakarta-born Dutch hydrological engineer Willem Johan van Blommestein. With a surface area of approximately 1,560 km² (602 mi²), depending on the current water level, it is one of the largest reservoirs in the world, flooding nearly one percent of the country.
